♦ Background and Significance

In today's world, profound changes unseen in a century are accelerating, economic globalization is facing headwinds, while a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is deepening, leading to profound adjustments in the global innovation landscape and economic structure. In recent years, enterprises worldwide have faced practical challenges such as disruptions in global supply chains and international logistics bottlenecks, prompting a global reallocation of resources and the formation of new supply systems. Strengthening and enhancing global industrial and supply chain cooperation is a shared interest and urgent expectation of the global business community.

On May 18, 2022, in his video address at the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized the need to "safeguard the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains, expand the pie of cooperation, and ensure that the fruits of development benefit people of all countries." To thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, the CCPIT hosted the first China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing from November 28 to December 2, 2023.

As the world's first national-level exhibition themed on supply chains, the inaugural Supply Chain Expo, under the theme "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," effectively promoted upstream, midstream, and downstream integration, collaboration between large, medium, and small enterprises, synergy between industry, academia, and research, and interaction between Chinese and foreign companies. It achieved four major functions: trade promotion, investment cooperation, innovation aggregation, and learning exchange. The expo is a significant initiative by the CCPIT to actively implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directives on maintaining the stability and smoothness of global industrial and supply chains, a key platform to address the global business community's urgent expectations for deepening industrial and supply chain cooperation, an important vehicle for advancing an open world economy, and a new practice in promoting the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.

♦ Exhibition Content

The third Supply Chain Expo is scheduled to take place in Beijing from July 16 to 20, 2025, covering a total area of 120,000 square meters. It will feature six major chains—Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Smart Automotive, Digital Technology, Healthy Living, and Green Agriculture—along with a Supply Chain Services exhibition area.

♦ Six Major Chains

Advanced Manufacturing Chain: Showcases the entire industrial chain process in global advanced manufacturing, from front-end R&D and design, new material applications, and key component processing to smart manufacturing. It highlights the critical role of advanced manufacturing in "new quality productive forces" for industrial upgrading and enhancing international competitiveness, further strengthening cooperation and shared development between Chinese and foreign advanced manufacturing enterprises to advance the construction of a modern industrial system.

Clean Energy Chain: Based on the "source-grid-load-storage" framework, it displays the full-cycle industrial chain of clean energy from supply to consumption. Focusing on photovoltaics, wind power, energy storage, hydrogen energy, smart grids, low-carbon transformation of traditional energy, and zero-carbon parks, it highlights new technologies, products, trends, and developments to promote multi-energy complementarity and integrated development, contributing to low-carbon development goals.

Smart Automotive Chain: Showcases key technologies and products across the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the smart automotive industry chain, including core raw materials, critical components, three-electric systems, intelligent connectivity technologies, and new energy vehicles with different technical routes. It integrates related services such as charging and battery swapping, emphasizing innovation in electrification, intelligence, and connectivity to enhance intra-industry cooperation, cross-sector integration, and resource sharing.

Digital Technology Chain: Features cutting-edge digital technologies, emerging industries, and solutions and applications that empower various sectors. Structured around underlying technological innovations, mid-level industrial incubation, and upper-level application scenarios, it connects the innovation, industrial, and application ends, presenting key links and focal points of the digital economy across the entire chain to promote deep integration and upgrading of the digital and real economies.

Healthy Living Chain: Displays products and technologies from key segments of the health industry, advocating for healthy lifestyles and environments. It focuses on innovation and upgrading in traditional medicine and the "silver economy," building a complete health industry chain spanning from birth to elderly care to foster integrated development across the health sector.

Green Agriculture Chain: Showcases the entire agricultural industry chain from "farm to table," divided into upstream agricultural production, midstream agricultural processing, and downstream agricultural products and distribution. It emphasizes agricultural informatization and smart agriculture to reconstruct new drivers for agricultural development and promote green, integrated development across the agricultural industry chain.

♦ One Exhibition Area

Supply Chain Services Exhibition Area: Addressing end-to-end supply chain needs, it is divided into three sections: "Belt and Road" Supply Chain Services, Supply Chain Innovation, and Comprehensive Services. These sections respectively showcase supply chain cooperation models in the "Belt and Road" initiative, innovations in logistics services and technologies and supply chain optimization, and services such as financial insurance, intellectual property, commercial law, and trade consulting. It provides digital, integrated, and low-carbon management and solutions for global supply chains, advancing collaborative and green transformation of industrial chains to enhance cost efficiency across industries.
