On the 22nd, reporters learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) international standard "Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation Access to Low-Voltage DC Systems and Use Cases," led by China, was officially released recently. This standard is the first international standard in the field of photovoltaic DC, laying the foundation for the development of distributed photovoltaics and the construction of new power distribution systems, and providing guidance for the global distributed photovoltaic industry.

The international standard focuses on typical scenarios and key technologies for distributed photovoltaic access to low-voltage DC systems, systematically reviews relevant typical engineering cases worldwide, summarizes the technical evolution rules of photovoltaic DC interface equipment, and clarifies the technical requirements for low-voltage DC systems in terms of system control, fault response, and stable operation.

Against the backdrop of global energy structure transformation, photovoltaic power generation, with its significant advantages and broad application prospects, is gradually becoming one of the important driving forces for global green development. In 2024, photovoltaic power generation accounted for 10% of global electricity consumption for the first time. China's distributed photovoltaic industry has also shown vigorous development in recent years. By the end of 2024, the cumulative installed capacity of distributed photovoltaics reached 370 million kilowatts, becoming an important force in promoting China's energy transformation and achieving the "dual carbon" goals. As distributed photovoltaic power generation enters the stage of market-oriented development at grid parity, its explosive global growth urgently requires scientific and unified international technical standards.

The international standard was led by experts from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Huaneng Jiangsu Integrated Energy Service Co., Ltd., and completed in collaboration with experts from 14 countries, including Germany, the United States, France, and Japan, after four years of joint efforts.
