Xinhua Finance Shanghai, July 28 (Xinhua) - To promote in-depth cooperation and exchange in the field of artificial intelligence among BRICS countries and support the inclusive development of AI in Global South nations, the "Win-Win BRICS" forum of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference was recently held in Xuhui, Shanghai. During the event, the "BRICS AI Industry Cooperation Network" and the "Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance International Network" (AIIA Global-Link) were launched.
According to reports, the "BRICS AI Industry Cooperation Network" was established under the leadership of the China-BRICS AI Development and Cooperation Center (referred to as the BRICS AI Center). It aims to support high-level coordination, facilitate cross-border exchanges, promote AI standards alignment and industrial collaboration, and deepen policy dialogue, knowledge sharing, and practical cooperation in AI among BRICS countries.
The "Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance International Network" was jointly launched by the China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance (AIIA) in collaboration with nine international institutions, including the British Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute (CI), and Seoul National University in South Korea. It seeks to foster global AI industry connectivity and collaborative development.
Additionally, the "BRICS AI Center Enterprise Committee," involving representatives from the BRICS AI Center, CETC Taiji, China Energy Investment Corporation, China UnionPay, Brazil's SERPRO, Indonesia's Lippo Group, Alibaba, Kuaishou, and Model Space, released its first achievement, the "Framework for AI Enterprise Globalization Development Guide." This initiative aims to strengthen international cooperation and capacity building, supporting the global expansion of AI enterprises. The AI Research Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), in partnership with Tencent, developed the "International Business Expansion Intelligent Agent" to help enterprises navigate global policies and markets, enabling efficient and compliant global services.
The forum, themed "Pooling BRICS Wisdom, Building a Smart Future Together," featured three thematic sessions: "Exploring the Value of BRICS AI," "Discussing Global AI Cooperation," and "Witnessing the Achievements of AI Industry-Academia-Research-Application." These sessions addressed key topics such as AI industry development, open-source sharing, and international governance, accelerating the transformation of technological achievements into real productivity and supporting BRICS countries in achieving high-quality digital transformation.
